Mewtwo Returns is the sequal to The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back. It was aired in Japan as Myuutsuu: Ware Wa Kokoni Ari! (Mewtwo: Here I Am!) as a New Year's special extra long episode that was actually two episodes back-to-back.

Mewtwo Returns was released in English as a direct-to-video episode. In this 63 minute long movie, Mewtwo returns (well, duh), Domino, a stuck-up Rocket member, makes her debute, and Mew appears rather briefly (Mew's still a little mad about this, unfortunatly...). Also, if you are one of those lucky people out there with the DVD version, you get to see the uncut The Birth of Mewtwo!

Woo! Mewtwo Returns was not cut up and watered down like the rest of Pokemon! I was so suprized at how undubbed it was. The cloned Meowth speaks Japanese (he says "Nya" instead of "Meowth." Meowth's Japanese name is Nyasu, and "nya" itself means "meow"), Domino's name was not changed, and Mewtwo was absolutely awesome! All symbolic and depressed and everything! Plus, the drawings of him definately improved.

Oddly, Mewtwo Returns isn't rated. I thought that was weird as I read the back of the case. Surely its a PG (for deep stuff and mild violence, like where Giovanni breaks his glass).
